Ideal Home has recommended six Christmas storage products for ornaments, trees, wreaths, wrapping paper and lights, ranging from divided bauble boxes to tree bags. The roundup is a shopping guide, not a report of new product testing; prices, availability and independent performance evidence are not provided in the source.
Ideal Home has published a six-product Christmas storage roundup, recommending options for baubles, trees, wreaths, wrapping paper and lights. The shopping guide focuses on affordable alternatives to a £279 Balsam Hill bauble chest and says suitable storage may help keep fragile decorations organised and protected while they are put away.
The list includes the MaidMAX Christmas Bauble Storage Box, which the report says has four removable, adjustable drawers and can hold up to 64 baubles and decorations. A zip-up lid and grab handles are intended to make the box easier to carry and store. The source does not give its price or report independent testing of its protection.
For trees, the roundup features the Argos Really Useful 77L Christmas Tree Storage Box, described as a hard-shell option for trees up to seven feet tall with a click-on lid. It also suggests the Holiday Cheer Heavy Duty Christmas Tree Storage Bag, which is said to accommodate trees up to nine feet tall. Its flexible shape may make it easier to fit other decorations into unused space, though the report gives no test results or price for either product.
Other recommendations cover decorations that can be awkward to store: a Dunelm wreath storage bag with a zip closure, a Country Club wrapping-paper storage bag for rolls and accessories, and a Christmas Village lights holder with four removable holders. According to the article, the lights holder can accommodate up to eight strings of lights. These are product descriptions in the roundup, rather than independently verified claims about durability or performance.
Storage Choices for Fragile Decorations
Christmas decorations often include breakable ornaments, shaped wreaths and tangled lights, each of which can be difficult to put away safely. Separate storage designed around these items may help households keep them organised and reduce the chance of damage during handling or while they are stored. The report also points to a practical problem many readers recognise: original tree packaging can be difficult to reuse.
The recommendations are useful as a shopping shortlist, particularly for people seeking alternatives to a higher-priced bauble chest. But the article does not establish that any item will prevent breakage, mould or other damage in every home. Buyers may need to check dimensions, materials and current prices with retailers before choosing a product.

Why the Roundup Was Published
The Ideal Home writer says a recent house move prompted a purchase of new festive decorations, including a tree, baubles and a wreath. After the items arrived, the writer realised storage had not been included in the shopping plans and began looking for lower-cost options.
The article notes that decorations may spend much of the year in a cold, damp loft, where dust and moisture could affect them. It contrasts the suggested products with the Deluxe Rolling Bauble Chest from Balsam Hill, listed in the source at £279 and associated in the article with Ruth Langsford. The roundup does not provide a date-stamped price comparison across the six alternatives.

Prices and Product Performance
The source does not list prices for most of the six products, confirm their current stock or provide retailer links for every item. Prices and availability can change, so the roundup alone cannot establish what shoppers will pay now.
It is also unclear whether the products have been tested for moisture resistance, durability or protection from breakage. The article describes intended uses and product features, but does not cite laboratory testing, manufacturer specifications beyond those descriptions, or comparisons of how well the items perform over time. Its claims about helping to protect decorations should be read as product guidance, not a guarantee.

Check Fit Before Buying
Readers considering the products will need to confirm dimensions, capacity, materials and current prices with the relevant retailers. For tree storage in particular, checking the packed tree’s size against the stated limits may help avoid a poor fit. For ornaments and lights, shoppers can also compare the number and size of compartments or holders with what they own.
The roundup offers ideas for planning storage ahead of the season, but the source does not announce a follow-up test or provide further reporting dates. Any later update on stock, prices or product performance remains unconfirmed.
